Aarthi Agarwal was born on 5th March in New Jersey, U.S.A. When she was fourteen years old, she got a chance to go on stage with Sunil Shetty. This prompted her to take acting lessons at Cours Florent. Aarthi Agarwal has a sister Adithi, who has also acted in movies like Gangotri. 

Aarthi Agarwal married Ujjwal Kumar in 2007. 

Aarthi was in the news for trying to commit suicide which went unconfirmed.

Aarthi Agarwal made her debut in Bollywood with Paagalpan (2001) which went unnoticed.Aarthi Agarwal got an offer to act in the Telugu movie Nuvvu Naaku Nachav (2001), directed by K.Vijaya Bhaskar.Aarthi Agarwal was cast opposite Venkatesh and the movie did well at the box office. 

In 2002, she had another hit in hand with Indra, which also starred Sonali Bendre and Chiranjeevi. In Vasantham (2003), she teamed up with Venkatesh again.Aarthi Agarwal played Shriya Saran’s friend in Nenunnanu (2004). She even worked in the Tamil movie Bambara Kannaley (2005).
